Limbiķu kapi

We invite you to a special celebration at Limbiķi Cemetery on August 26 of this year! We will gather at the newly installed statue to celebrate Jesus’ promise to bring relief to all who are heavy-hearted and sad. On that day, pastor Mārtiņš Urdze’s last wish will be fulfilled.

During the official part of the celebration, sculptor Ojārs Feldbergs will share his thoughts on the creation of the Jesus monument, and Pastor Jürgen Philipps (Germany) will reflect on the Bible verse that is at the core of this project.

“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.” (Matthew 11:28)

Special attention will be given to the people to whom this monument is dedicated – to all those who feel sad, desperate, lonely, lost.

We will close the unveiling by thanking all those who have helped to make this project a reality and by asking for God’s blessing.

Afterwards, we invite you to snacks, refreshments, and live music provided by:

  • Dita Barona and Beāta Zariņa-Blaščinska
  • Niks, Makss, and Benedikts Kadeģis
  • Nils Goiževskis
  • And others

If you are planning to participate, please confirm by sending an e-mail to
